Though i have never know how great a president, Dr Wee was.. *I was still a young kid when he was our president.* But after reading those articles and interviews bout him. I am deeply touched.. Tears welled up as i scroll the pages... My heart started to sink as i signed
'Cookie Tan, Singapore Hockey Ladies Team' on the condolence book.
My heart sank deeper as i walked into the State room where he was laid peacefully. Dr Wee's humble way of life has touched me deeply..... Even with his resting ground...
This was what was quoted by his son from his letter - "
But his(Dr Wee) wish was conveyed to me by letter which he wrote in February, just a few months before he died, that he began life humble, he wants to end it the way, the same way, he came, humble. And he wanted to be interred with the ordinary people whom he loves."
